Description of Book

Volume 4 of the Advanced Tung Style Acupuncture Series is solely concerned with the application of Master Tung’s Acupuncture in the treatment of neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders. This text presents over 485 prescriptions culled from more than 15 different Chinese language sources. From these sources, the pertinent neurologic and neuropsychiatric data were compiled, collated, translated, and accompanying diagrams applied in order to facilitate their application. As in previous volumes, the data include author-specific point locations, needling instructions, contraindications and, when available, clinical comments, herbal suggestions, lifestyle modifications, etc. all derived from the author(s) own personal clinical experiences with Master Tung’s Acupuncture.

Part 1: Neurologic Symptoms, covers headaches (from chronic daily to vertex), cranial nerve disturbances (from anosmia to vertigo), back & neck issues, presyncope & syncope, numbness & paresthesiae, alterations in consciousness, epilepsy & seizure disorders, and the floppy infant.

Part 2: Neurologic Diseases, addresses infectious diseases (cerebral abscess, meningitis, poliomyelitis, etc.), movement disorders (choreoathetosis, clonus, paralysis/paresis, Parkinson’s, torticollis, etc.), stroke & sequelae (aphasia, dysphonia, hemiplegia/hemiparesis, etc.), neoplasm, trauma, sleep disorders, and neuropsychiatric disorders (amnestic syndrome, bipolar disorder, myalgic encephalomyelitis, psychosis, etc.).

Again, the text is entitled ‘Advanced Tung Style Acupuncture’ because it, like its predecessors, implies that the user has already had a course in Master Tung’s Acupuncture. 496 pages
